About The EVENT
The women of ancient Israel were whole persons, even though we often get only partial stories of them in Scripture. This course will explore the wide range of their participation in the faith community, and dig more deeply into the stories of Eve, Sarah and Hagar, Miriam, Deborah, and many more.
This webinar meets on Thursday nights from October 24-November 14 at 6pm-7pm, Central Time.
This webinar is a taste of Dr. Coleson-Derck's class, "Women in the Bible," which will be offered in Spring 2025 at Nazarene Theological Seminary. You can apply at www.nts.edu/apply. Â BIB715 WOMEN IN THE BIBLE (3hrs) This course offers a study of women across the Christian canon: stories about them, laws and customs governing their lives, the uses of female imagery and voice, and theological voices on the place of women in Creation and among the people of God. Special attention will be paid to the historical and cultural contexts of the passages pertaining to women. The course will also address various interpretive approaches vis-Ã -vis the value of women, with a view toward constructing a biblical theology of woman for faith communities today
