About The EVENT

Many pastors spend years preparing sermons, providing pastoral care for the members of their congregations, and organizing their church for worship, discipleship, and outreach. Fewer are able to spend as much time learning good financial management skills and guiding in best practices for the local church. Yet, pastors are often given general or specific responsibilities for oversight of expenditures, budgets, and accounting in these areas.

Therefore, Praxis is partnering with Keith Cox to offer this webinar. Cox is the General Treasurer for the Church of the Nazarene. He has also held numerous positions in finance and ministry, giving him tangible experience in both worlds.

Cox is actively involved in ministry and service through JESUS Film Harvest Partners, Work & Witness, Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene, and as a Board of Trustees member at MNU. He is also the president and a board member for North American Savings Bank and its holding company, NASB Financial, Inc., in Kansas City. He has held numerous other positions at NASB, including chief financial officer, and has led various financial, accounting, and administrative endeavors.

We hope that local church pastors, their church treasurers, and others charged with oversight of these resources will come together to learn best practices for managing them for effective ministry.

Class will meet online on Thursday nights from 6-7 CDT from May 2nd-May 30th. If registrants for the course are unable to attend a session, a recording of that class session will be provided for them.

  • May 16th: Expenses & Accounts Payable
  • May 23rd: Budgeting & Reporting
  • May 30th: Risk Management

$25 registration for this course includes access to all five class sessions and a free copy of "Church & Non-Profit Tax & Financial Guide."
